Overview

reSonans is a computer-assisted composition environment for Mac OS X that helps free composers from repetitive, time-consuming tasks. Rather than realizing process-specific details, a composer using reSonans can focus on higher-level intuitive creation, leading to a dynamic compositional workflow.

As an example, consider augmentation. Transforming a motif by doubling its rhythmic values is not particularly difficult, but imagine if the alteration was by a factor of 1.4 - clearly, the task is more complex. reSonans performs it quickly and accurately, providing aural and visual representations of the result. If it is not satisfactory, the composer can reject the transformation with minimal effort lost.
